Two outcomes, one short price

Every double chance call below is arithmetic on our published 1X2 split — the two most likely outcomes, their probabilities added. That sum is often 75% or higher, which is precisely why the prices are short and why the bookmaker's cut hurts proportionally more here than anywhere else: at short odds the margin is a bigger slice of your expected return, as the margin calculator makes concrete.

The standing temptation is to rescue the price by chaining several "safe" doubles into one ticket. The accumulator calculator shows how quickly stacked 80% legs decay into a coin flip.

When it beats a straight 1X2 bet

Double chance earns its keep in tight fixtures, where the draw is live enough to scare you off a side but the match still has a lean — covering 1X or X2 turns "probably not the away win" into a position.
